ADM and GDZ Elektrik Dağıtım won an award at the 4th Energy R&D Workshop for the “Smart Bracelet” they have developed as they have been signing an important innovative work in the field of occupational health and safety.

ADM and GDZ Elektrik Dağıtım, which aims to add value to the sector and to move forward the technology to the areas it serves with the projects it developed, has won “R&D Success Award” at the Energy R&D Workshop which was organized the fourth one this year with the cooperation of Association of Distribution System Operators (ELDER) under the coordination of EPDK. The awards were given by Mustafa Yılmaz, head of EPDK. Continuing studies for the development of smart wearable technologies in order to improve occupational safety, ADM and GDZ Elektrik Dağıtım aims to prevent potential occupational accidents in the electricity distribution sector with its R&D studies regarding this subject.

“Smart Bracelet”; a first in the sector in the field of occupational safety

The smart bracelet, which will be carried by the employees, protects the employees against the risks that may occur during the intervention to breakdown. Employees will be alerted with the bracelets which are working as detectors by visual and vibration, in the places with high voltage equipment. This design, which R&D belongs to ADM and GDZ Elektrik Dağıtım, will be also an exemplary in the field of occupational safety as being a first in the sector.

Bayramoğlu, “Human and society are at the focus of our studies”

Ahmet Bayramoğlu, General Manager of ADM Elektrik Dağıtım said that; “Our main approach in our practices is to add value to human and society. Human is at the focus of all of our studies. Our most precious asset is human and our biggest capital is again human. We work for human and we work with human. Therefore, our project is relatively small in terms of content, but a big innovation for our sector and our people in terms of its effect and results. The project is an outcome of our approach to protecting life safety. We will act with the sense of our responsibility as we did in the past and we will focus on R&D studies.” 

Yüksel, “We focus on occupational safety and innovation; we minimize the risks with the smart bracelet”.

Uğur Yüksel, General Manager of GDZ Elektrik Dağıtım emphasized the importance of R&D projects and the support to the projects and said that; “We are proud of winning this award with our new project “Smart Bracelet” where we had brought together human value and innovation concepts which are our focus in all our activities”. We raise the bar at Occupational Health and Safety in electricity distribution sector with the smart bracelet which our employee will carry comfortably and consistently. All the studies in this field; will ensure to prevent all kinds of risks. 

Our employees provide 7/24 service in the field in order to provide uninterrupted electricity distribution service. They make their activities mostly in the same place with powered equipments which we call live many times. The bracelet, which has been designed within the scope of the project, will alert the employee with vibration and sound when the person approaches the powered equipment close enough to jeopardize his safety. With the ‘Smart Bracelet’ project we have implemented, we will significantly prevent occupational accidents. I would like to thank everybody who contributed to the project.”

ADM and GDZ Elektrik Dağıtım won an award at the 4th Energy R&D Workshop for the “Smart Bracelet” they have developed as they have been signing an important innovative work in the field of occupational health and safety.
