Aydem Energy Information Technologies Group Director Engin Kavas indicates that Aydem Energy is the first and leading integrated energy company of Türkiye and adds: "We provide services in electricity generation, distribution and retailing. We use digital technologies extensively in all these phases of our operations. Digitalization is also an important topic for our future plans.”
As Aydem Energy, we operate in the fields of electricity generation, distribution and retail. Digital technologies play an important role in the smooth continuation of the services at all stages of electricity generation, distribution, in meeting thereof with the consumers, and for the smooth operation of such a critical infrastructure. Industrial control systems and digital technologies, IT and OT are evolving into more integrated structures. The meeting of industrial systems, namely the physical world with the digital world, brings along many opportunities for data collection, presentation, interpretation, control and decision making. Digital technologies enable physically done things to be performed more effectively and efficiently.
In our generation and distribution companies, there exist projects which are carried out mainly in order to increase operational efficiency, service quality, and occupational health and safety. In our distribution companies, we observe the positive effects of technology in areas such as the frequency and duration of outages, and in the loss and leakage rates; whereas customer experience projects stand out in our retail companies. We carry out processes on more and more digital channels every day in subscription services, collection, and etc. We are also working on new business models in our retail companies. Furthermore, we are working on projects related to the e-mobility ecosystem, with the general name given to vehicles running on electrical energy, on smart home and office systems that focus on energy efficiency, on distributed energy generation systems that aim to generate energy from renewable energy sources such as solar energy, namely on rooftop SPPs and on smart grid management systems.
There are technologies that we currently use in different fields in our various group companies, and our work in some areas still continues. IoT is one of the technologies we use in our industry, especially in distribution network infrastructures. Using the structure in which we connect IoT devices to the center with a high number of m2m lines, we use the data obtained together with machine learning systems in areas such as loss and leak detection. Artificial intelligence is one of the technologies we use in digital communication channels that we offer to our subscribers with omni-channel infrastructure in both our distribution and retail companies. We use it especially in chatbot structures. We also use software reports and RPA technologies in many of our different business functions. The number of these software robots is increasing every day. Software robots perform routine non-value-added tasks. One of the examples I can give for the technologies we are working on is computer vision technology. We have pilot studies on this artificial intelligence supported technology that imitates human visual abilities, especially in the field of occupational health and safety.
